Re: Our record attendance
just seen reference to these old games. I was at both the Tottenham and Hereford games. Atmosphere on the north bank was great and all that but the reality was the view of the game was pretty hopeless compared to now. Constantly shuffling to try to see where the ball was.
Something that I havent thought about for a while was the proportion of people that bought tickets on the day in those days. Probably about 50%. You just turned up and hoped the queue wasn't too big. Occassionally you got caught out and it was a sell out.

I know this is not a popular opinion but there clearly is a market for our match tickets. I have never not sold when posting on Ticket Trader and over 3 weeks ahead of the Liverpool game - televised and Monday night - my kids tickets sold within 15 minutes of posting ... even if there are tourists buying (and some keep saying) I am proud that we have a market and it saves me money on renewal.

Ps. Last game when 2 of my kids couldn’t go, it was a pleasure seeing a dad bring his son to his first Hammers game

Noticed (think it was goals on sunday) that our average gate is 7k more than sp*rs. At about 51k Which would leave them with 40,000 empty seats at Wembley.

And if their new ground is 61k they will need to find 10k extra fans week in week out.

Cunt club

You have to understand that most of those bitchy comments were made by tottenham fans who don't give a fuck about us because they are the biggest club the world has ever seen, and we are pikeys.from the slums of East London They are obsessed with size.

They don't care about us so much that every comments section on BBC website West Ham reports contains numerous comments running us down and boasting about how big they are compared to us, whether we win lose or draw.

The lady doth protest too much methinks

Re: Our record attendance
I find it remarkable that we sell out every week and have the third highest attendance figures in the Country, think back to all those that mocked us in public, little old West Ham could never fill it they said, not so fucking noisy now are they, imagine if we ever get our act together

Both Brum and Arsenal matches there seemed to be very few empty seats to me. People actually turned up.

I saw that box - it looked like there were people behind the glass, so I assumed it was to do with Sky.

New record today 59,946

And 3 points against the gooners too. Lovely stuff.

Couldn’t see too many empty seats either (from my sofa) unless someone wants to tell me different

Re: Our record attendance
They said 52k already sold so should be close to a full house.

I believe 5,250 from BC so a pretty good atmosphere.
